Mate, I'm assuming you're on about Bad Company 2, not BF2...This is something far, far better than Bad Company 2. Battlefield 2 on the PC was, and still is my favourite FPS of all time.

Yeah, that's BFBC2, not BF2. The Bad Company games are a spin-off, and are basically Diet Battlefield. Not many players (PC BF2 had 64 players, so will PC BF3), no aircraft (Jets and bombers are back in BF3), less weapons and features, etc.


If you liked BFBC2, BF3 will blow you away. BF2 with destruction and vastly improved graphics, basically!

It'll be out on PC, 360 and PS3.

The downside of course is that the 360 and PS3 can't handle DirectX 11 (a graphics and application handling software), so the graphics won't be AS great as on PC, and the consoles will only have 24 players, same as BFBC2. However, that may change - They are considering upping it to 32 players for consoles.

The message towards the end cemented my love for BF3 - Return to Karkand map pack on release. Best news all year.


Confirmed to be 4 maps, with one obviously being STRIKE AT f*ckING KARKAND. I'm hoping the others are Gulf of Oman (favourite FPS map ever), Operation Clean Sweep and Wake Island.

Bigger, better, more fun, more vehicles, bigger maps, more balanced, more teamwork, more features, focus on Conquest (unsure if BF3 will contain Rush or not - It probably will).


The Bad Company games were a test of two things - One, the console market. DICE was unsure how the players would react to a Battlefield game (since BF2:MC was a shitty, shitty console port). The other was to test the Frostbite engine, to see how it would work in a proper multiplayer gameplay scenario and if the consoles could handle it properly. Like I said - BFBC and BFBC2 were spin-offs, but were very, very watered down. Maps were f*cking TINY in comparison to typical BF maps, player counts were smaller, the classes were less balanced etc.


Everything you like about BFBC2 is present, but augmented. Joosh will know what I'm talking about - BF2 is STILL better than both Bad Company games. BF3 will continue the trend of the "proper" BF games.

Is BC2:MC the one where in the campaign you can aim at an ally and press a button to become them? If it was, I fricking loved that one, but such a long time ago  :o
